JCT Ranch LLC started as a dream that became a reality! The JCT stands for James & Candice Thye (pronounced "Tee"). We initially raised Texas Longhorns to keep an ag exemption and to have some pretty pasture art. Then one day Candice decided she wanted the cute little hairy cows we all know as Scottish Highlands. A few crazy months later we are fully operational raising not only Highlands, but HighParks, British Whites, White Parks, and Wagyu as well! Keep up to date on what our crazy ranch is up to by following us on Facebook and Instagram!
James grew up in a very small country town, after graduating high school he attended Oklahoma State University finishing with an Associate of Applied Science degree in Electrical/Electronic Technologies and a Bachelor of Technology degree in Instrumentation Engineering Technology. James fast passed his career in Automation Controls Engineering by spending several years in the Houston, TX area, but he always desired the country living that were in his roots. After James and Candice married and had two kids, James found the perfect job that allowed them to move back to the area Candice was from to live in the country. A few years later JCT Ranch was formed. James continues to work full time in the Controls Automation field while co-owning and operating the ranch with Candice.
Candice grew up spending a lot of time on her grandparents' farm, after graduating high school she attended University of Texas San Antonio and later started her career as a Registered Dental Assistant. After meeting James and with a promise to move back to country living as soon as possible, Candice moved to Houston, TX where she continued to work as a Registered Dental Assistant for a few years. After their first child was born, Candice became a stay-at-home mom. Now, with two kids, a childlike husband, a dog, and a ranch full of animals, Candice has her hands full and is the glue that keeps the home and ranch together. She is also the co-owner and operator of the ranch with James.
